Yea, I also have a 20XE in many, many, many different pieces, some Corsa wing mirrors a couple of sets of drive shafts, two rear disk conversion kits... The list goes on.... :( You can borrow my crane if it helps too, but you'll need to come up t'farm to use it cos I doubt it will fit in your car

nooooo. :(
you seriously have a spare rad?
bollox, that would have made things easier. or cheaper anyway.

never mind. shit happens.

yeah fuck knows how i'm going to get to the leak.
i've got the battery out and the header tank out, and the powercap off to get better access, but i still cant really see whats what.
ideally need to be stood where the gearbox is.

 You should have said, I have a spare rad in my pile of stuff... You could unbolt the engine and lift it out slightly so you can get to the hoses easier?

cheers for the offer. i've got all the hoses i need, they're just not attached properly.
Lee sorted me out with the proper versions of the couple of bits that i bodged when i went to him to sort my linkage and pas pump.

i did wonder about the rad, but isn't the diesel one bigger and with the connections in different places?

i've already bought the pattern one now, so hopefully i'll be sorted.

starting to piss me off now.
started to strip a few bits out to try and see where my coolant is coming from this morning. can see from the top through a gap in the inlet manifold that it's squirting away from the block toward the back of the alternator, but can't really get to it to have a proper fiddle.
don't think there's enough space to take the inlet out either which is gay.

noticed while i was poking around, that my rad is also leaking quite badly. i put a bottle of rad weld in it a couple of weeks back, but that just seems to have skanked everything up, and not actually done any use.

took the rad out but can't see any holes in it.

went to vauxhall to price one up, and it's £150 :!
went via allparts on the way home to see if they do pattern ones, and got one for £68. still not great, but a vast improvement on the gm price.

also took off my power steering hose that the exhaust m,elted through, and took it down to a local hose specialist trade counter. they're fixing that for me to pick it up tomorrow.
pain in the ass being without a car though.

hopefully i can sort it on saturday.

gash gash gay.
sympathy accepted.
