vauxhall havent got the best reputation for cambelt bearings etc anyway so its best to change them.

Ah, yea, thats what could happen. Was just trying to figure what could go wrong if the pump were to fail... Didn't think of that :thumbs: Thanks :)

yeah pump belt and all guide and tensioner. basically if something seizes and the belt breaks its head off and head rebuilt etc

you will deffo need a new water pump if the conversion is from a non 2litre car

I also take it that it is highly advisable to change the water pump before doing a conversion? As it is quite painful if these break... Engine uses the early type timing system...
