I tried to sign upto a contract 3-4 times the othernight without success. Ended up ringing to do it, anyother day and I would have gone elsewhere.

We never had problems with the website, which bit crashes and I'll pass it on to the Geeks to fix.

website is shit but tariffs are good, just got a k700i for free with 500 mins/txts for 25 notes a month :)

No idea. I bought my contract phone from them no problems about a month ago. But I am 21.
They website always loads with "errors on page" tho.

hahahaha, O2 online customer service is in India, Normal Pre-pay dept is in Bury (this is where i live) and Normal contract is in Leeds...

I work for O2. You have to be 18 to have a contract and have to have a UK Bank account where the bills are debited from and you need a credit card to pay for wot ur ordering.
ANSWER TO ORIGINAL QUESTION - Yes on the o2 website you have to sign for 18months but thats to the online tariffs e.g 500 sms a month. If you go for a high street tariff minimum is 12months contract.
