J100RSA did the engine conversion. I sourced the astra GTE, and he used the coss vaux fitting kit.

I will be posting as soon as i have had my first proper drive in it, hopefully with lots of :D faces! It just seems to be one problem after another, but i guess it is almost fixed now. All i got left to do is repair the bodywork where it slipped off the ramp on the trailer!

havent had the chance to drive it properly yet! Drove all teh way home with cap off expansion tank to stop it from pressurising and blowing the hoses off. Checked all the hoses in the morning, went for a quick drive, got about mile down the road and i realised i didnt have 5th. Came to roundabout, realised i also had no 1st or 2nd. Had to get to work cos i was late so drove it with clutch slipping, and then on the way home from work (bout 1/2 mile) clutch went completely and ihad to push it, and its been on the drive since then!

i fixed gear linkage, and coolant hoses are fine now, so its just going in to have clutch done (if it is that) and the speedo cable fixed.

Copied from an earlier post...

"driven 200 miles in mine, and 2 coolant hoses have already come off (one 30 seconds after leaving the garage, got that fixed then the other 10 mins after leaving the 2nd time when i was sitting in KFC getting some munch before the 200 mile journey home!) Gear linkage was misaligned leaving me with only 3rd and 4th gears, but i was late for work and had to drive it anyway causing my clutch to burn out. (I think, clutch is being checked tomorrow) "
