Very nice.

280bhp is very easy to get.

De Cat downpipe realeases around 30bhp.

I totally beleive it, why else would all the wrx's with mods listed as exhaust and downpipe be 280 for sale, that's the main figure they are at with those bits done from memory.

not disputing your claims, just seems like madness, why would anyone buy an STi when you can just change the downpipe and exhaust on a WRX and hey presto :boggle:

Because it's still an Sti, it will have better handling, look better, better interior, more features/options, engine has diff bit's to it, ie forged piston's etc.. etc..
just because you can get same power by modding it does not mean people will just buy the WRX, same as corsa's, if that was everyone's mentaility, no1 would buy a gsi as they can just mod a 1.4 sport to be the same speed, but they choose the gsi as it's that speed standard, comes with a kit, dif seats etc.. etc..

+ just add a dcat and exhasut to an sti, and that will be faster, just like the wrx is, Maybe the exhaust system is very restrictive! i don't know, but i'm not modding the engine to get power, just how it breathes.

As said mate, just quoting what TSL have told me, and with their experience, I believe them.

Spoke to TSL (leading scooby tuner's) and this is what they told me mate, downpipe inc dcat + exhaust and i'll have same power as STI's.

WRX, standard, but it's only got 40k miles and it's mint.

only need an exhaust + downpipe to put to STI power, so i'll be happy with that.
