For competition in Britain rally cars must not exceed 120db - this is checked in scrutineering and also can be checked during competition.

I dont know what the regulations state for outside Britain though, but I cant see it being much higher as 120 is fooking loud!

As for harnesses, they pass as long as they are mounted correctly and as Si says, they must be fixed at an angle. If you mount then vertically straight down once they pass through the seat they will rip the back of the seat in an accident - meaning you might as well not have them on.

I think for harness its more the angle they are fitted out.

Sure its 45degs minimum which is the bottom the footwell behind

do rally cars have to abide sound restrictions on exhaust systems then stark?

All rally cars MUST be road legal (but dont have to be taxed) so therefore all harnesses designed for rally cars are road legal too.

The boy is correct! :D

For some reason i thought that you could only have the seatbelt type buckles on em, but there is nothing in the mot book that says anything about different types of buckles, only that they shouldn't be corroded, and that if they've got a brittish standards mark on em they are tip top to use in ya car, so if you ever fail ya mot on ya harness buckles, tell the mot tester to g.t.f, and show you in the mot book where its says they aren't legal....
just thought peeps should know..
