Like people said Vauxhall didn't do it properly -- should be two-pack/plastic primed, smoothed, etc, etc -- mine are fine.

Don't take it to Vauxhall as although they did a good spray job on my spoiler they are 1) expensive and 2) not a modifying bodyshop so haven't got a clue when it comes to this sorta thing ;)

if the arches are done properly then the paint should stay on no problem. unless high build up of oils grease etc

Tell them if they can't do it properly then you'll go elsewhere.

It's to do with the protective silicone based coat that was on the car originally... It reacts with the paint an does this... Usually happens on v new cars, but happens on Corsa C's up to 6-9 months after buying em...

well peed off and vaux just said they warned me!!!!!!!!!!!!

they obviosuyl jsut painted the plastic as if they were doing a normal metal panel for instance.

the plastic shuda been rubbed down, plastic primered, high build primered..given a slight rub down so that they were smooth and then painted.

If the paint is flaking off, skim the arch with body filler first.

I had a similar problem, the previous owner had used somthin with silicone in it like back to black or similar, when I took it in to be colour coded it caused all the paint to bubble and flake off

I had my fornt bumper colour codded and smoothed when i had my steinmetz grill fitted its been on three months now no chipping or peeling. My cars in noonsters garage if you want to have a look.

I would just get it done properly at a good bodyshop,

only prob i had with mine was there was so much bumper gel applyed to my arches that the paint wouldnt take no matter how much thinners and other things were applied.

had to buy nnew arches and the paint went on fine with sum plastic primer, high build then sum painting.

i will never use \AutoGlym shit again
