Taken from the Vauxhall Technical Bulletin:

25/09/1996
Reference: Weight saving programme - for post 1997 Vauxhall Corsa Models

"In the mid-90's Vauxhall in conjunction with a number of independant industry bodies identified the entire Corsa range as being severely underpowered.

This was mainly contributed to the fact that the average hand size was becoming so large that there was so much fabric involved in glove construction it would significantly weigh the car down when the gloves were stored in the glove box.

As a result of this investigation, it was decided that owners would be forced to leave their gloves at home by the reduction in volumetric capacity of the handglove storage compartment."

CD Changer on mine, rest your feet at your own death risk! And yes, all corsa's/tigra's with air con have a TINY glovebox and shelf.

I had the sport 1.6...this had a small tray and glove box as the air conditioning unit was located behind it and the space was needed....

Ok pre 97 corsa b's all had large glove boxes & large trays (under glove box).

What changed in the design to post corsa b models, as the tray & glove box have shrunk rapidly ????
