the only time you need matched pairs is for dual channel use. If hes wanting matched pairs its probably just to guarantee that the ram is compatible.

Yeah can do it in 2 256MB sticks. Are you sure it needs to be matched in pairs ? I was under the impression that it was only dual channel memory which you had to install in pairs ?

Might have a 512MB lot off ya but can ya do it in two lots of 256MB DDR400??

I got 512MB in two 256MB units already so for it to match i'd need two more units.

Whats the lantency on thse and the CSa rating??

Hiya

DDR 400 is the same as 3200
DDR 333 is the same as 2700

the difference between the 2 is the speed they run at

400 is obviously faster than 333, but some motherboards will only run 333
