I can see the arguement from both sides....monthly meets would be good for people who cant make them v often...but then would it be a wasted effort if hardly anyone can attend each month? I think advance planning would benefit people as they can arrange work around the days..I for one cant make every meet due to commitments but with a hoooj advance warning I would probably sort something out better

well the meets will be on the first sunday of every month, so no confusion.

Looks like they are the final 7 locations?? or are there any more suggestions for cities or towns?????

whats at rutland?

A couple of good Country pubs in derby with nice locations, space, view and facilities.

Theres the Stenson Bubble Inn ( last meet in derby was here )
http://www.stensonbubble.com/

And Also
The Ragley Boat Stop
Ragley Boat Stop
Deepdale Lane,
Sinfin Lane,
Barrow On Trent,
Derby.
Derbyshire.
DE73 1HH.

They have an Awsome Steak challenge at the Ragley. Its like a 48 ounce and its HUGE.

Also im always willing to travel for a meet. I have been many times to Northampton and im willing to make the effort to goto Lincoln and other areas round the east mids region.

so on there we've got 7 locations, that means each one twice a year and then skeggy one weekend!!!

Are there any other suggestions of places to meet that anyone wants to offer?

TBH i think we can incorporate trax and pvs into the monthly meet next year aswel

rob, thats just what i tried to say in the first bit, lol.

I think every month will be ok tbh though, because some people wont even plan to go to the meets further away, and if we keep them monthly we can always have them on the first sunday.

we would benefit from seeing what counties etc we have in our region then look at maybe a rotational meeting system? say one month lincs, another month, another area etc as to not put too many people out, and to ensure everyone does their fair share of spirited driving or short trip more local...what would be good is to start prepping a rota for meets next year to plan well in advance...allowing people to book times off if need be or to let people try to negotiat vehicles round bodyshops or garages and shows...a meet every 6weeks to 2 months would maybe worth considering, as I feel a monthly meet would be too regular

Well, we know the Pride is ok, theres the one in Derby that Reedy organised a meet at, that was good, i'm sure he'll remember what the pub was called... and the Toby is useable, as we know

not sure about any others though, they'd need checking out

You need people to recky the pubs ideally. Check you've got a few big bits for throwing a few tables together.

Skeg convoy might be best to leave til the weather is good, next summer may be better now.

I'll plot them on a map roughly anyway

If we could get a list of the counties covered, that would help, i could hack a map about to get the region on properly.

schoey

yeah please robin, maybe wait till we've finalised all the locations, or got a few more suggestions at least. Convoy to skeggy would be good. Bank holiday weekend would be a laugh or at lease sometime in august, but then again, trax is first week in sept.

schoey

yeah, was just getting the places sorted first, then we will sort out pubs etc. when we've got all the locations sorted would you be able to put them on a map for me?

Robin

posted on 3rd Aug 06 at 23:17

Yeah, pub meets do the trick

Skeg would be good once a year, a convoy to the coast type thingybob :)

i'll give it a bash getting them on a map tomorrow if you like?

Ian

If you can get these plotted on a map somehow might be easier. Not got any software on this computer at the moment, I'll get on later on.

You need to decide on a format as well. Two-for-one pubs are always a good option as you get parking to have a look at cars, bit of food if anyone needs it and drinks where appropriate.

Following on from Ian's post in the meet idea thread i had, id like to propose that you suggest all the places that you would like a meet. It can be a place close to you or a place which you just think may be cool.

I will then schedule each location into a rotational jobby thing, with the monthly meets being on the first sunday of every month.

Ill start

1)Lincoln
2)Skegness
3)Northampton
4)Derby/Nottingham
