well was passing the mk1 golf and called in and had a look, Exterior and interior was MINT! (only blemishes were rust bubble on top of front wong, and ripped drivers seat bolster) Then took a look underneath, not so pretty. Would need fair bit of welding i think. So i will leave that at the mo.

Got an insurance quote for the nova, £800 fc (700 tpft) With HIC (All modds covered, inc the engine modds assuming they give less than +10bhp)

So im goin to have a look on sunday. Guy still isnt shure if he will sell b4 he goes away, but i will go c wot the crack is with the car anyway.

He said the exhaust was blowing, so has ordered new system, and ive 2 go look at it nxt wk sumtime. (he's not really pushing 4 sale as he doesnt want to sell, but the extra cash wold com in handy)

I think im letting my heart rule my head though, I want a cheaper car (try save some £)
But if i get the nova, im gonna have to spen a bit on it, and then the insurance.

Fook it!! Nova all the way!! At least its gonna be bit more unique!

Saw a mint mk1 golf 4 sale today, god im tempted!

Think if i get it, i will get a cheap runabout, transfer the astra insurance 6months left (with norwich union) to that, and spend 6months getting the nova mint and ready for next summer!

Well i was speaking to the owner outside a nightclub last night, And the story is;

He bought it 4 years ago with 43k miles on it, and got a yrs driving ban due to drink driving conviction, so he spen the year doin the nova up.
Hes used it a bit, and its now done 63k.
He is goin to australia for 3 months in two weeks time, so would like it sold by then (doesnt want to sell but needs the ££)
Said he'd take £1500 for it, but it will need 200 or so spent on tidying up few bits on bodywork, but said it mint underneath.

heres a spec list:
Engine: 1400cc with Twin 40's, High Lift Piper Road Rally Cam, Four Branch Manifold, PMC Exhaust System

Suspension: 60mm Lowering Springs All Round

Brakes: Astra GSI Front Calipers, Vented Disks, Standard Rear Drums.
Wheels/Tyres: 17 inch Dare RSL Alloys, 205/40/17 Tyres

Bodywork: Full GSI Body Kit, De-Locked, Subaru Bonnet Vent, Bee Sting Aerial, Seat Ibiza Front Splitter, De-Badged, Side Skirts, Full Respray, Colour Coded Mirrors, Door Handles and Pillars, Oval Clear Side Repeaters.

Interior: Astra 8v Digital Dash and Car Systems Cheak Couputer, Alloy Door Pins, Electric Switches Mounted Within Center Console, Electric Windows, Rear Interiour Lights.

ICE/Security: Alpine TDA 7570 Head Unit With 12 Disk Multi Changer, 2x480Watt Amps, Sub Woofer, 4x6x9's Speakers. Cobra Immobliser And Remote Central Locking Alarm.

So i really need to sell the astra asap! Will be in autotrader next wk.

The owner is a friend of a friend. He works for a fuel company (driving lorrys) And got a company car (And wanting to keep the nova good, just uesd the company car all the time. So he put the nova in storage at his work depot in glasgow, As he couldnt part with it.)
Its not actually for sale, but if he was offered the right price (and knew it was goin yo a gd home) would sell.

tell me about it, there MINT!:thumbs:

yeah dares would go, i do like them (nice simple design, but look too big on novas, 16" or 15"s look better)

Ive always like novas and now id say theve lost the boy racer image (saxo's can have that) And are now starting to get rare (mint ones anyway) Thats half the appeal:D

But then again, the corsa sri can look v.nice.
Novas winning at the mo

only bad points with the nova that i no of are a few rusty stone chips, and the scooby vent is cracking a wee bit.

cheers mav, i do like it, but will have to sell the astra and go have a really good look at it!

Just want something fun for a few years, have lost/spent too much money on cars, just want somethink i can run cheaply (cheap parts, and simple mechanics so i can do all work myself) And have fun in.

Also if i got it id lose the 17"s and get some softstars/allessios

AS you may or may not know, i started of with a 1.2 8v corsa (which was subtely modded and quite sensibel/smart for a first car) wen i was 18, i then sold it and got a mk4 astra 1.8 16v sport, which i havent really done anything too.

So now i want something i can have fun in, subtle bodywork, and a bit of engine work and get the handling sorted:thumbs:

And im torn between two cars, a corsa b 1.4 sri, or mk2 nova 1.4 sr (yes thats right a nova! Ive always wanted one on the road since i was 10 and had a mk1 1.2 merit to drive about in the feild in front of ma house. I then had another mk1 which i entered into a stock car/rallycross race)

Anyway back to the point, which should i go for? (i no its gonna be a bit biased here)
heres a few pics of the possible nova (j-reg 1.4 sr, twin webbers, lowered 60 etc etc, ohh and its done under 60k miles and has been in storage for the majority of the last 2 years)
