I'm 28 but own diddly squat that's worth worrying about. Not a huge amount if cash in the bank either.

House goes to Lily and vice versa as part of the joint tenancy thing where you choose ownership of the property on the deeds.

44 :( was 30 when I first made one.

Made our first will after the early and unexpected deaths of my dad and then hers. My pops had left a will but my wifes old man hadn't. The problem with that was as he'd left no will all his money and property went to his new wife (my wifes stepmum) she got everything. So what you may think. Well all the guys money and property has been squandered by new wife and her spoilt brat daughter and his own flesh and blood got nothing and couldn't even get keepsakes. The women sold everything within days.

So we made a will sharpish

My sister would be entitled to some otherwise, it's down to Mum and Dad to decide what goes where, I trust them to make the right choice for my position in life.

Isn't that the default situation anyway? Assuming you are un-married and have no kids. :)

had to do one when we bought our house so the kids would be looked after if anything happened. Got the solicitors doing our house purchase to sort it all for us

Found a local one on Groupon, very thorough with things we'd never even thought of that could happen. Not nice to do but at least its all sorted now.

If you're in a union, they should be able to do you one for free.

Went to the solicitors was cheap enough. Have had the experience of what happens when an early demise without a will causes real problems.

So it's easy to do and tbh I wouldn't bother with these diy will kits at least you know it's done legally and properly and you just let everyone know which solicitors has your will so if and when you pop it. There's a simple phone call to sort it all.

Have any fellow CS'ers made a will as of yet?

If so, where did you sort it? Local solicitor? Online will kit things?

I have been meaning to get my affairs sorted for ages in case anything did happen to me, the other half or to both of us. I guess you need a decent (solid) set of instructions in place but I suppose no one would find out until I kick the bucket what its like....
