I have a Barbour. They last a lifetime if cared for and are certainly worth the money.

Not sure about Belstaff jackets, they look a bit ummm.... :0

Did have a quick look on eBay for secondhand ones, they seems to keep there value well  It's certainly food for thought (/temp measure) if i can snipe one dirt cheap and get it restored by Barbour themselves though.

Buy older one, send it to Barbour to be refurbished, they do a top job! Or get a Belstaff

What about Aquascutum? They've been making rain coats and overcoats for ever. Do they do a wax jacket? :)

If you can hang on then do. Mines just the traditional green "classic" style.

Was £115

I bought mine in the summer in the house of Fraser sale for less than 50% of what they are for sale for now :look:

They do seem pretty good but i'm not convinced they're £250/300 quid good. They had naff all sales on over xmas (tried John Lewis and House of Fraiser), perhaps i should hold off until summer then.

Dave - Tar, will have a gander at Musto

I saw a Musto waxed jacket, if it's anything like the rest of Mustos gear it will be excellent.

Doubt it will be as good as they used to be being mass produced now. I bought mine in the summer in the house of Fraser sale for less than 50% of what they are for sale for now :look:

On the hunt for a traditional (no quilted bollocks) waxed jacket and i don't doubt Barbour stuff is the equivalent to Hunter wellies in that it's all 'badge'. So, does anyone know of good alternatives? :)
