Originally posted by SetH ***** SPOILERS ****** FFS I have had to get the laptop out and logon to answer your questions you fucking lovely man you. 1) How does that final scene link up with Alien? I don't think that it links up? I assume you are talking about the Alien bursting out of the Engineers chest? I believe this is just to show an early version of the Xenomorph. It almost looks more like a template for the versions you see in the Alien films in that it is a little bland and featureless. If you are referring to Shaw and David flying off on one of the engineer ships because Shaw is 'still searching' then this is a scene that made me rage. I believe it was put in there so that religious people did not kick off because throughout the entire film there were many references that God was basically a crock of shit. Although Shaw did raise the question that if we were created by the Engineers then who created them (insinuating god). 2) Why has the ship on LV426 got a chestburster coming out of it? It is obvious that the bio-engineered weapons that the Engineers have created are so efficient and deadly that they actually have problems containing them. Perhaps the ship on LV426 had a containment breach and crashed whilst enroute to a planet that had been selected to have life erased by said bio-engineered weapons. Maybe it was enroute to earth, maybe not. What is clear is that it contained much later models of the weapons. 3) Does that mean that alien at the end planted an egg on one of the other ships on LV223 and as it went to search for Rapace and Fassbender the SJ got a face hugger attached and crashes on LV426. Who knows what happened to that Alien, if it were just a drone and not a queen then not much it could have done to be honest. It probably perished after some time, perhaps the engineers code a finite life cycle into the creatures. Once they have cleansed a planet you would not want them hanging around would you? With regards to your comments earlier about life on earth being an accident I think the engineers actions were intentional and effectively this is how they seeded Earth. I am not even sure if the Engineers even changed their minds about returning to Earth to unleash the weapons. I think the only reason they did not make it is because they had a containment issue and were all killed (bar the one who survived and went into stasis). I did ponder why they would want to do such a thing and perhaps they had decided that Humans at the peak of their Civilisation were cunts. Ie raping the Earth etc and decided to wipe them out and maybe re-seed the planet at a later date. However, the first engineer they find is carbon dated at 2000 years old, thus if he died during a containment breach it would have been 93AD on Earth. Also remember that this started out as a full on Alien Prequel until Damon Lindelof came on board and rewrote the script. We were kept guessing as to how much a back story it would be to Alien to maintain all the hype and guess we were suckered into it. To summarise the Film, well I thought it was a bit muddled but it has moments of brilliance and the Environments that Ridley Scott has created are utterly convincing. Be interesting to hear the opinion of someone who goes to see this having never seen ANY of the Alien films. [Edited on 02-06-2012 by SetH]
