i stopped it on my mates pc by going into the options menu when it was signed in and then changed what it uses to sign you in

iirc there were 2 options, net_passport and another one, tick the other on and it wont sign anyone in unless you type the address and password etc

hope that made sense

Windows Messenger will get opened by Outlook whether you want it to or not. You can actually remove the link to Outlook, but just deleting it works wonders.
But if you delete it, it does slow the loading of Outlook Express down.

thats msn messenger. you're signed into windows messenger. i have it on my computer, and it always signes me in

CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then go to processes, and end the process called "msmsgs".

Then go to the start menu, and click RUN and type "MSCONFIG". On the startup tab, look for "msmsgs" and uncheck the box. Next time you start up it SHOULDNT load.

If all else fails, just delete the windows messenger program

This happens to me even if it is "uninstalled" because Microsoft Outlook insists on opening it.

You can see if it is running by using task manager and looking to see if msmsgs.exe is running, if so, end process ;)

did you not try unticking the 'start windows messenger on bootup' in tools>options ?

James_DT

You run MMC, and add the Snap-in "Group Policy", it's in there IIRC.

You do, it's in MMC, but I don't remember off the top of my head where it is

User Accounts >> Click your username >> Change My .NET Passport >> On left click 'Manage My Network Passwords' >> Remove yours from the list

Control Panel, User Accounts and somewhere in there is the list of Passport accounts, delete yours.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Really fooks me off

I have uninstalled it, yet everytime I go onto the internet it automatically signs me in
I end up having loads of people trying to talk to me when Im not even there (eg- If I leave my PC on downloading stuff during the day). Plus sometimes I dont wanna talk to anyone. Like if im messing around in PS or if im on other sites

It makes me look dead ignorant because most of the time I'll just ignore them.

How can I stop it doing this? :boggle:
