Robbo - have you tried the GMail program for setting it up automatically that's on the Gmail website?

I use smtp.ntlworld.com they don't ask for Auth, and it's pretty quick too.

Removed and AOL is now working OK again... reason for all this is that I have an old AOL username on my mum an dads account but they r getting rid of AOL soon and I wanted a good name... Gmail gives a good one :)

Yeah but if you're using AOL SMTP you must use the AOL address not the Gmail one.

If you have AOL Broadband you will not be able to send via SMTP as they have no SMTP servers that you can use in Outlook,

Right, I have just configured Gmail to operate via Outlook (POP3) and all is fine BUT I tried sending myself an email and it doesn't appear anywhere, does if I log onto Gmail though :S |
