Originally posted by Jamie Walby We lost 1-0 started and played 60 mins. Ran my arse off the whole game. The guy I was playing up front with had an injured knee so I was doing all the running across the other teams back line. played a 4-4-2 and Derek Yeboah  was playing left wing but spent half the time further up the pitch than I did. Because of this I found myself taking on responsibility of covering in for him. This bloke tackled me (yes, we were on same team :! ) when I was running down the wing PMSL. had acres of space, slowed the ball down to see strike partner get in to a good position in box, went to cross , though all of a sudden in a black flash, derek takes the ball, trys to take on a bloke and ball ends up out for a throw in.......madness  when I came off I was dead, manager said it was best he has seen me play for a long time and was really pleased with the effort I put in, hence why he subbed me cos I had not much left in the tank. A much improved team performance, the goal we conceeded was a bit sloppy, though shit happens. The team we played are top of the league with a record of WWWWDW so we didnt do too badly. Our captain Ian 'Jailbird' Yates got sent off under quite strange circumstances.was in a tustle for ball, bit of shirt pulling etc, both players start to go to ground though, somehow, manage to grab each other to keep balance, opposition player swings for Ian, misses by miles, and the ref sends them both on. Our bloke for sure deserved a yellow for the shirt pulling but no way a red. He did very well to walk away after being swung at too, something none of us have ever seen him do before  He said he thought he had done the right thing as he thought he didnt want to get send off.... All in all. A good game
