£331m, or $613m, or 497m euros...

And when you have a corporate bank-balance in the region of $50billion, a mere $613million is hardly going to make a dent.

You'll probably find Bill Gates could pay that fine on his own, without dipping into Microsoft's company-bank-balance......after all, the man does give in the region of $90million to charity a year, from what I've heard.

Exactly - all this anti-competition stuff is bullshit.

I mean, who last paid for a copy of Windows?? The last retail version I had that was legit was Windows 95 and it came on 13 floppy discs.

If people can't work out that they don't need to use Window Media Player then that's their own fault - not Microsofts.

Other software is available, other software is crap. Media Player is popular because it's not full of shit like Realplayer and Quicktime.

There are loads of free media players out there so I can't see what the problem is.
It's Microsoft's software, so they can do what they want with it.

Next Ford will be fined for making headunits that aren't DIN standard - forcing customers with aftermarket headunits to buy a fascia adaptor...

wouldnt mind a bit of that!

Microsoft are bound to have the most market share, so im sure that wont hurt the MD's phat bonuses!
