The gasket is manky. Any ideas on where you can get them?

I wasn't quite sure that's why I asked the stupid question first ! Think I know what you mean as the cylinder head on my old 1.4 8v was a bit yellowish from the burnt on rustproofer that had been sprayed on it by Vaux. Sounds like head gasket. Mine had to be done (under warranty luckily) due to a small oil leak along the front. This was running down the cylinder block behind the exhaust manifold and making it oily around the sump. Dealer changed the sump gasket first despite me pointing out the head gasket leak. The leak was not enough to make the oil level go down much but it could only get worse. There was no oil in the water or vice-versa but, just occasionally, the engine would run a bit hot.

The block head part, no not the oil cap. Its a dull yellow colour.

What is the yellow part ? It's not just leaking oil around the filler cap is it ?

Just noticed oil leaking from the top of the engine (the yellow part), not massive amounts but looks out of place... How much for a new gasket and where can I get one? |
