your wiring is fine

the max they can take is 115w before they go into meltdown

do u honestly think i didnt look into possibilities of burnin out switches & melting wires when i put these bulbs in my corsa over 2 yrs ago???

re-wire, it aint worth the risk, also u have to becareful that they dont get so hot they burn the mirror off the light backing

i had a talk with a load of lads from some garages and they all said they wouldnt even think of installing these bulbs without rewiring the corsa, as they said the standard wiring isnt hardly good enough for the standard bulbs.

standard is 55w/60w

i'm near enough sure yours are H4

its those sportzblue lights, do i need H4 or H7, the H4 are 100w and the H7 are 80w,
80w isnt much over the standard one is it?

Gambit

posted on 23rd Oct 03 at 12:31

yes they can take it, 100w will be fine

rewiring is not nessecary

but above i was told that rewiring is necesary?
are you 100% sure the stock wires can take it? i dont really want my car to start fire

you can stick in a set of 110w/90w bulbs in a corsa b without the need for relays or rewiring

i ran it in my corsa for 2yrs with no probs whatsoever

Noonster

I was wrong then :(, Mine were just plug and play.

thats the thing, i dont have a clue what relays i need etc, the only thing i know i need is thicker wires :(

Kris TD

posted on 23rd Oct 03 at 08:38

its blinding obvious. just follow the wiring back from the bulbs to wherever they go. a small amount of soldering is necessary.

if your compentant about what relays u need and connecting them just upgrade the wiring to thicker stuff.

yea im just talkiong about, are they all hidden away or blindingly obvoius etc, this is going to involve soldering isnt it!
what bits were involved in being replaced when you did it? so i know what to get

Kris TD

posted on 23rd Oct 03 at 08:33

no, corsa uses h7 bulbs, unless u have a corsa c which uses h1's i think.

wat u meen whats the wire? get some thicker stuff and u need relays also. the standard wiring is unbelievably shite.

whats the wires and how much of a pain in the arse is it to rewire?

also, does the corsa have different bulbs for half and full beam?

Kris TD

i agree with broster, there was a 2v loss over the standard wiring on mine and my bros corsa, redone it with relays, thicker wire etc.. and its allowing me too run 100w bulbs. if u dont make it better there is a high risk u will set your car on fire.

broster

depepds how much more power they use than a standard bulb, it is advisable to re-wire, also bear in mind that a standard bulb will be brighter if you rewire beczuse the standard wireing looses 2(ish)volts

Noonster

posted on 23rd Oct 03 at 07:53

Nope they will be just plug and play

i want to get those sportzblue headlight bulbs for my corsa B, as they are brighter and have a higher rating, do i need to modify any of the current wiring etc to handle the extra power these bulbs will demand?
