Took mine out cos it was scraping over speedbumps & in danger of bn ripped off. Got sebring straight thru c/s & b/box on my wee 12v puttydinger & no complaints, sounds nice as fuk but I think it's mainly down to the Sebring b/box. Only prob at mot was getting the emissions to drop quick enuf but passed ok.

takin out the centre section from a 1.2 works a treat, it pulls more, sounds better and it aint too loud. i just got the garage to cut a bit of tube with a slightly wider bore and fitted it over the original pipe. clamped both ends, then covered the gaps with gum gum. sounds sweeet! and only cost me £30

u need the silencer there, so either buy a full stainless steel system, or else buy the sebring middle silencer for £70 & get that put in

yeah I've asked my local garage about this, but they said unless you got a 2.0 or more under the bonnet u shudn't take the centre silencer out. Either way u will lose back pressure causing a loss in power. However the noise will be louder. but on a 1.2 the power wud be reduced to even shitter than it is. I want a 2.0

you should put another silencer in it or it will sound crap, we have had people come in work asking for centre box to be taken out and then a couple of days later they come back to have one put back in.

I've just fitted a stainless steel magnex backbox and i wanna replace the centre section. i've got a corsa b sxi and i wanna change the centre section for a straight through pipe. at the moment it got a silencer in the centre section. what i need to know is would it fail mot without this?, would it be too loud and i get pulled by the bab ? and last but not least where would i be able to get a centre section from ?. |
