I guess this may in theory only work with the mk3 Astra then.

im almost sure that a Corsa inlet body would not fit an Astra mk4 1.6. I have seen the Astra engine and it would most definately be a different fitment from what i could see.

Corsa engine = X16XE = 106bhp
Astra engine = X16XEL (might be different on mk4) = 100bhp

The reason you don't have the 'grunt' of the Corsa engine, is because the induction manifold/throttle body etc. is different between the two engines.

I don't know if the different items on your engine can be removed and Corsa engine items used instead, as the ports on the cylinder head may be different, I'm not sure...

my mate owns a 1.8 mk4 astra sport and after fitting a green induction kit there was only a slight improvment in sound which sounded muffled but stood outside it sounded a lot more grunty and was sounded awsome with a raidhp foam style filter

drilled airbox or filter wont make the difference in sound, its the inles manifold mate, try PVD for a lexmaul one, i'll be giving u at least an extra 15 bhp as well

u can get a performance manifold.

when u say grunt do u mean sound or performance?

if u mean sound then try a panal filter and drill air box

if u mean performance i found my car seemed to perform better after havin my custom cat back exhaust which i did several weeks after my pipercross viper.

is there any way of changing the inlet manifold from the old mk3 astra 1.6 16v or corsa 1.6 or is it major work....

corsas and astras have different inlet manifolds which probably results in the change of sound :(

they do sound nice though don't the
