yeah alpine amps r awsome, id take up thomas's suggestion.

I honestly cant see the problem with Alpine amps, ive been using Alpine amps for 3 years now, never had any problem with any of their range. I dont think they have a reliability issue. I think because they are so good value people are saying something must be wrong? So people say they dont put out their claimed wattages, EVEN if this is correct (lets say the M1000 puts out a genuine 800w and not 1000) its still plenty enough power for these subs. Couple that with a brilliant after-sales service (if needed) and I still dont think you'll beat the Alpine. :thumbs:

and
the Alpine is 1000w at 2ohms = £400

but arent DLS a shit hot make???

which one whold u lot choose?? i would go for alpine, BUT loads of ppl have told me to stay away from them!!

Peak rating are usless... you can't really measure a peak rating with any consistancy... peak rating usaly implies what the sub can handle for a short period of time... Like DB drag events where you play at stupid levels for a minute or two...

Completely usless for everyday use where a consistant level will be maintained for long periods... Thats why we have the RMS rating...

if stated correctly the RMS rating should allow continuos play for an indefinate amount of time.

Diggdy I think you are muddled mate, the subs want a COMBINED RMS of 600w @ 2ohms, or each wants 300w @ 4ohms. Each is dual 2ohm so can be wired to 4 or 1 ohms, so the pair can be wired to 8ohms, 2ohms or 0.5ohms :! either way they want 600wrms at any of the chosen ohms, 2ohms being the sensible choice.

Easy, Alpine m1000 - £400. it will push out approx 1000w at 2ohms. Its perfect for those subs as a little too much power is not a bad thing. Dont believe the scare stories about Alpine amps, they are VERY good, especially for the money and the in-built features are great! Honestly, even though im biased the Alpine amp is perfect for this app and for £400 you'll be having a hard job finding one that will beat it! Anyone care to disagree... :D :lol

That would be 600 RMS @ 4 ohms!!

although JL do not give the exact WRMS rating @ ohms... the standard usumtion ids that that rating will be given at 4 ohms.

These sub are dual voice coils and their 2 ohms voice coils not the normal 4 ohm coils as with most dual coil subs, which will lower the resistance and thus produce a high WRMS rating.. effectively your increasing the WRMS when you lower the resistance...

whats the peak on the subs as well ?

Your looking at a serious Amp here...

your looking at an amp capable of pushing out 1200 watts RMS @ 2 ohms..

seeing that the subs are Dual 2 ohm coils depending how you configur them, you can take these down to 0.5 ohms !!! silly figures which my brain wont cope with at this time of day... don't quote me on these but we could be talking somewhere in the region of 2400 watts RMS... or more...

Yur best bet is look for a mono class D amp capable of 1200 watts RMS @ 2 ohms

don't think JL produce anything that size, not that i know of...

JBL do one which is rated at 1200 RMS @ 2 ohms... it's a BD, DB, BP..... just a sec....

JBL PowerValve BP-1200.1, very good quality amp will do the buissness...

best person(s) to ask would be snowy or corb... but don't let them bully you into over spending...
