Did u try actually pressing the switch? :P

Try putting a multimeter and check continuity on the switch

Will either have 3 or 4 spade connectors on it, will also have a diagram to show you how to wire it up.

For 3 spade connectors it would be

1 for earth
1 for live supply (comes from the output of the switch)
1 for live supply output

Or on the 4 spade connector:

1 for earth
1 for live supply (from switch)
2 for live supply output.

:D

nice one, cheers AustinPXX, where u get the switch shown from, maplins?

Then whatever connecter is left is the output for the switched supply.

In my experience from what i can remember when doing the switch it went:

Top connector : Supply live
Middle: Switched output live
Bottom: Earth

Give it a try :)

what you need a wiring diagram for? Pretty simple. Three spade connectors, one is the earth, one is supply and one is output.

To find out which one is which, get a live and earth from your battery, push the switch in, and connect the earth to one connector, then the live to another until the switch lights up.

have you got a wiring diagram for that? i got some blue ones at maplin and forgot to get it out the book and cant be arsed to drive 25 miles or pay £5 for it and cant seem to find it anywhere

Unfortunatly i dont think you would have any luck getting a nice looking switch that can handle 40a.

Best thing to do is to get a 40a relay then use whatever switch you want.

I have one of these in blue for my 120a relay:
