Never ever pay the barstards the full whack, really they do very little
on a service most of it is "visual checks" read the service guide in their
book if you don't believe me. I wondered myself if they have a 5-minute look
then just leave the car in the carpark and have a cup of tea like on some MOTs.
You can get an oil change and new oil filter for 15 quid from some firm in
the paper think its northern tyre services, that's the biggest part of the job,
new plugs you can do yourself just be careful levering the DIS off if
you've got one, what else is there? Not much brake pads? Get ATS to
check 'em for free. Only thing to pay for is cambelt I guess but check if
car has chain first. My dealer charges about 80 quid an hour a total rip-off
and simply not worth it!

Get it done elsewhere, dealer services are nothing special. Not worth the extra expense on a car of this age, and you could probably do a better job your self tbh.

My VX dealer offers 2 prices - one for a full VX service including wash & interior vacuum, the other a Masterfit service which is cheaper but doesn't have the wash/vacuum. If your car is under a 3 year warranty/AA deal you must have the VX service to continue the AA cover. That won't apply in your case.
