i just put shit loads ov sealer round my wires as the gromet split, sealer is rubbery as its form work for sealing ventilation duckting

oh yea, forgot about the fuse holder!
the only thing i can suggest is disconnect the power cable at both ends and thread it into the engine bay.

this would mean more headache cos u'r gonna have to reroute the cable after and strip ur car out.

are they glass fuse holders or inline fuse holders? On the glass fuses one end of the entire cable comes out and will go back through the hole. An inline fuse will fit through the hole anyway.

will cost u a quid for the grommet,
disconnect power cable from battery.
thread the powercable back into the cabin thru the firewall. insert grommet in the hole.

rethread the cable back in to the engine bay, reconnect to battery. fix it up.

i'm quite disguisted that sextons hadn't used a grommet. I would be furious, the powercable could have chaffed and may have caused a short, having your car up in smoke with you outside looking like a fool.

mate get is sorted asap.

yeah i know, thats what i thought...sextons stuck 2 in for 60, kinda wish i dun it myself but i thought it take the safe route...guess it wasnt so safe.
yeah but 60 pound, picked it up n he goes...who installed the amp aires? so i told him n he goes well theres no blah blah needs to be fixed.
so my mother asked him how much is that n he goes ermmm depends how long it takes, about 60 pound!
i nearly fell ova.

If there's no grommit, get it sorted ASAP cos it'll do you no favours :lol:

But £60?? Costs less than that to get an amp wired in from scratch(about £30). Tell this bloke to kiss your ass!

power cable that goes to where? If its the cable to the alarm then surely that should be in the alarm box? If not then its there fault. What gromet you on about?

had an alarm fitted yesterday n when i got the car back he sed the power cable didnt have a rubber gorment in the whole.
sextons fitted that...bastards...anyway he quoted 60 to get it sorted..sed it depends how long it takes.
how long should it take cos i can do it myself for alot less!
