nope, but if your planning on using that for subs it needs too be alot thicker than that.
i use clingfilm all the time when fibreglassing to get shapes.

For a paint on-able finish, skim over the fibreglass lightly with P38 bodyfiller, then rub that down with sandpaper gradually getting finer as you get closer to the shape and finish required. Then you can prime and paint as normal.

its not that flexible! thats prob,

ill leave it over night i think then try tomorrow, then ill goto my local bodyshop and ask what i should do next to get a finish i can paint on,

I think i have been using to much resin, so i think next time i shall use less!

If you flex the bucket, you'll find it will come off, fortunately the object you used as a mould is flexible plastic so you learned the easy way!

i am indeed having big problems trying to get it off the bucket

I think i will need to snap the bucket at this rate, im not bothered as it only cost 99p

If i use clingfilm, will it be harder to build the class up? as it wont stick to anything?

looking good so far, you lot should compile a nice guide/faq for CS :)

Or use a sort of wax or soap to allow the mould to release from the bucket.

piece of advice, dont use masking tape, use clingfilm, cos it doesnt stick to the fibreglass, ure gonna have a fun job trying too pull that mould off the bucket with the amount of tape you used :)

Well as i have now started on my quest of buying my system, i thought i should start to think of how im going to house my ICE, I was thinking of just doing a plain carpet install with a few neons, but after Max Power Live i felt this would be a bit boring, and im going to do a full fiber glass install (boot, rear pods, kicks, door pods). Dont get me wrong, some carpet installs look mint (like steves and overs out there)...

I was thinking of going and spending 70+ quid on the stuff right away from a company Corb surgested, however i thought i would just buy a tester pack from halfords to start with to see how i get on, it was only 10 quid and if i decided it would be to hard, i wouldnt of wasted to much money :)

So today after buying it i thought i would have a go at doing it. After reading a few how to guides from the net i had the basic idea of what i needed to do so i went into my garage and started doin it,

Its mega easy to do and i am just using a bucket to try and get the idea of fiber glassin shapes, (A bucket aint the best thing to use, as you have to hold it with one hand to stop it moving all the time  so when you are trying to aply then resin it gets kinda fidderly,

First i masked the bucket using cheap ass tape i got from homebase

Then once i had done that i then got on my protective stuff ( gloves and a mask) To be honist when i start to do bigger projects where i will be around the resin for longer periods of time i will buy a proper mask, as this stuff can be nasty!

I just used an old brush i had lieing around to aply the resin to the fiber glass then onto the bucket, im not sure if i used a bit to much resin, but as its the first coat i dont think it will matter to much,

anyway i worked my way around the bucket and it ended up like this,

this last photo shows u the mat i was using,

Im just going to have tea have a little rest then i will aply another few layers to it, I should think 2 - 3 will be more then enough,

This is just a tester for my other projects, i intend to make this really smooth and i will be taking it to the bodyshop for them to spray it before i decide to go and pay out on loads more glass,

Stay tuned for more updates :)
