When you put in the facia adaptor, if you then put the cage in and bend the lugs of the cage to hold it in place as usual, this will hold it in.

I'm guessing ILL is for illumination, and would have the same effect as dimming.

SWC is steering wheel control I would assume.

SDVC could be Speed Dependant Volume Control?

Big guess on the last one...but it is a feature on the stock head units.

hi guys,

just bought an Alpine HU (9807) & planning to install it myself. i can work out most of the wiring but has the following questions:

1. looking at the factory HU wiring diagram, just wondering what is "ILL" for? is it the illumination plug? do i connect the orange wire from the Alpine harness?

2. what does "SDVC" & "SWC" stand for?

3. i've got the Autoleads facia, just wondering how you guys hold the unit from the back?? do u just slot the unit from the front only or should we use something to support the HU??

thanks

Philip
