Under hard throttle yeah it uses quite a lot. But if you drive it easily, fuel economy isn't much worse than standard.

As i say, you have 1 trupet for each chamber on teh engine. It provides direct access into the engine sucking in as much air as the engine can basically handle. More air+fuel = more power.

Same here - I'm on GEMS and once I've blipped the throttle a few times after starting her up, it's just like a standard car.

Having rough cold start depends on which engine management you have and how well it is set up.

Ummm, my car has a throttle body as standard and I've never known any problems, doesn't take any looking after at all and mine is not rough to start with, although I always get up to idle temp before thrashing it obviously

only thing with TB is that you need to warm the engine up before setting off otherwise they run a bit rough to start with

Maybe your thinking of Carbs? Slightly similar to Throttle bodies, but need to be setup every 6 months or so.

That's rubbish. Provided they've been set up carefully, they should be pretty much as reliable as nomal induction systems
