i think that, the ecotec valve only works when engine is cold.

might be wrong, thoug.

i would check airfilter, sparks, and the cat. and possibly change sparks and filter,depending what it is.theyre not that pricey, exept the cat.

Actually if you reduce the air to the engine then you'll get less CO2, but possibly more unburnt hydrocarbons.

Erm CO2 is a product of combustion... i imagine the only way to reduce it is to reduce the amount of fuel and air entering the engine.
