front shocks were leakin thats y i changed.

passenger side scrapes more than other side too :(
need to ask if he put bump stop over from me old shocks.

i've had -60mm springs in my car for over a year and apart from the slightly dodgy handling i've had no probs and the shocks still work fine. passed MOT twice with them in. as for the handling.. whats the point in ragging a 1.2, you arent going to get anywhere fast anyway! speed kills! drop her on the deck and be safe!

Well It does seem strange . Could just be crappy fk shox . Wish i had spent a bit more ££ and just got eibach spring and shox like i was going to do .

mine doesnt even hit that, probs cos i have my shocks set up fairly hard on the front, but then even in the wet when i have the shocks on soft they still dont touch, wierd, must be my car, lol

kris mine doesnt rub on the arch more on the platic linning ( the bit that protects the enginbay from crap ) and it does it more on the offside than the driver side.

Ive just got some eibach 30mm springs and ima going to see how i go with em

i dont know how people manage to get the front wheels rubbing, mine is down 65mm at the front on 17's with standard bumpstops from the old vaux shocks and they NEVER rub

yip that was me jam. i put my old p1 -40 mm springs on, it was lower than wen the p1 springs were on std shocks, but it doesnt rubb, so im fairly happy.

Argghhh - i cant remember if i have bumpstops on my fronts, have 2 check that out

Icy i got the fk full sus kit with 40mm drop all around . And my car droped about 55-60mm at the front , when its ment to be 40mm . So your car could hav done the same and this would explain the rubbing maybe ?? I know the same thing has happend to some eles , do a search as it was only i few weeks ago i put up the topic :)

then bumpstops as dont want it to sit higher than was before.
unless - standard shocks again but with fk 40mm springs

Maybe? But just trim them down. You got to find the ballance between the springs taking up the cars weight and the bumpstops. It aint easy.

Ripspeed do powerflex, good solid bumpstops but they wear your shocks quick. Personally you cant beat original GM bumpstops for ride, if you still scrub with these then add two sets of GM's. You just have to test by trial and error, cut some, mix some, just play around until you get it right OR go for coilovers which I seriously recomend...

now on fk shocks+ 40mm springs.

You say you are now getting scrubbs with your 40mm springs & new dampers but you didnt with your old 50mm springs and standard dampers. Its dead easy this one - youve changed bumpstops! You must have to now get scrubbing with the new shocks? Put slightly larger bumpstops in and it will stop the scrub! Scrubbing where? Front or back?

They mean that the springs will unseat when jacked up (usually). Not much of a prob on the front but on the back if the spring unseats it can fall out onto the road! To be honest under normal driving the damper will never reach its limit and allow the spring to unseat but from an MOT point of view its not good. The BIG downside of being lowered on standard dampers is that the car is quite unstable, the dampers dont run slow enough for the hard springs/bumpstops so it tends to 'launch' into the air over a bump and then crash back down and then bounce back up again. Dont try and take your car to its limits on a setup like this! Also you will find you will skid under braking MUCH more with a setup like this which can be lethal! :thumbs:

jus got shocks changed to fk ones and now scrape like a bitch!
then got 50mm springs changed to 40 fk ones and stil scrapes :!
thinkin of changin back to standard shocks on 50mm springs
