if u dont arm the alarm it wont go off, only the standard vauxhall one, if u still have it, will go off, u have to disconnect battery in a certain time to after turnin the ignition off stop it goin off, but aftermarket alarm will be ok so long as u dont arm it

True, as Cat 1's have backup batteries

Yeah but the fact that CAT1's have extra protection in them may mean there are problems, better to be safe than sorry.

If the alarm hasn't been armed, surely it won't go off.

The problems I can see is the battery backup kicking in and going mad, but saying that as long as you have the key fob you should be able to reset the alarm, your best bet is to ring an alarm installers that install Toad and ask them if they know of any problems with disconnecting the battery, they will be in a better position than me to tell you what problems you may get and how to over come them.

Hope that helps,
Sean.

Yeah the Ai606 is Cat1. What problem u think I'd have with this?

CAT1 alarms may have problems, but other than that you shouldnt have any.

I have a Toad A101CL and I have never had problems when it comes to resetting the ECU, that is if your following the guide I wrote in the tutorials.

How will resetting my ECU effect my alarm/immobiliser, if at all?
I have a Toad Ai606 if that matters.
