Yes, just about to tell you that but then reaslied you answered.

It should be noted to everyone that when changing engines the K="blah blah blah number" should be matched up correctly. Also if you plan on changing clocks just so you can have a rev counter you will also need to match up the K number as this is the calibration.

CRB you probably know this but your rev limiter wont have been at 4k it will have been higher its just the rev counter displayed 4k when you hit the rev limiter.

Sorry if you did know mate, just there for others.

just for your info. the clocks do need changing it seems and theres several model numbers for the 1.4 16v it depends on the k= number on the clocks.

Have found the right one for my engine.

Thanks people.

it might be the clocks though, i've seen it on here before about 1.0 clocks being out cause they are 3cylinder engines.

the engine might be reving as normal, but the clocks reading it wrong :boggle:

ah, so that actual engine hits the limiter at 4k? If thats the case then it wont have anything to do with the clocks.

My limiter kicked in at 4k once, and the engine management light came on, it turned out to be the crank shaf sensor had worn,

Im not sure mate. It maybe something to do with your old engine being a 3 cylinder, so the pulse count is different.
