He He, thats why im getting et25 YES et25 8x14's!! Should look the mutts. Should never catch on the inside of the arch cos they stick out so wide that the arch lip will sit on the tyre LOL, just think that im going to catch on the rear like that when im down 70mm.... Oh well, angle grind the metal lip back and re-shape the plastic moulding to curve around the wheel, should sort it...

ive had them a few months now

only down side is u need spacers to fit 16s or 17s on

et40 is the most ull get im affraid on front

My mate had spax adjustables on his escort, was a crazy suspension setup, the speed he could go round corners was phenomenal.

Sum one slap this guy. The RSX are coilovers at the front and normal at the rear. Sort it out... :rolleyes:

Exactly i was saying that a coilover is much better over standard shocks you muppet. Im not stupid!!

I would just like to quote that Mcpherson struts is the type of setup used on most modern cars. LMAO. Its not a make like Spax or Bilstein!!! Mcpherson struts are in the same context as rear trailing arms or torsion bars. Its just a type, not a name. :lol::lol::lol:

excellent thanx for your help i think i'll get them :) Which do I buy first wheels or suspension?? I was thinking that i'd get suspension first and slam it on standard rims for a while while i save to get wheels... i can't afford both at the same time :(

You'll have to remove the rear arch bolts and slightly trim the plastic arch but with a 7 x 16" in et45-49 and with 195/40 tyres you wont get ANY scrubbs.
If you have an ADJUSTABLE compensator then its just a nut and bolt and slide it further until it feels right, just trial and error really. I'd leave the suspension to a garage, but if you are pretty competent then you should be ok.
I fitted mine myself but I cant tell if other people can manage theirs down the end of a modem!

do you think they are worth the full £499? and how about fitting? do you reckon i could fit them myself, or is it a garage job? + will I get 7x16 alloys with either 45/40 profiles on the rear without any arch bashing? and finally, :) what about the rear brake compensator is it easy to mod? (I don't won't my rears locking up all the time!!!!)

Rears are fixed, VERY good quality though. The rears are just a adjustable gas damper and a 60mm drop spring, the same setup as most 60mm drop kits. I got mine by twisting a very good friends arm who works at Ripspeed.

I have the RSX kit. Fitted it a month ago. AMAZING diference over using Mcpherson struts. Dont think about lowering it more than 80mm otherwise they will wear out quick! They bottom-out at approx 120mm so if you were to use smaller bumpstops it would mean it could go lower but I wouldnt. I paid £400 for mine brand new, I thought 500 was a bit steep. Thinking about changing the fixed height rears for some Avo coilovers...

Im thinking of getting a height & damping adjustable Spax kit (RSX) for my 1.4 16V. Does anyone have this setup, if so any good etc..? Cheers :)
