yup, as above. When the wadding fibres vibrate in the box they generate heat and increase the air pressure in a sealed box (like the air pressure in a tyre) making the sub work like it was in a bigger box. It also dampens the airwaves bouncing around in the box which may otherwise work against the cone.

it makes the sub act as if it were in a larger enclosure. i.e. turn a 1 cubic foot box into a 1.2 cubic foot box.

i've seen this written in me maxpower/haynes manual. they say you buy it from toy shops,


what's the idea behind it? does it effect the size of the enclosure?
