You should get better consumption than that. The 1.4 16v has a air temp sensor, plus with the hear the engine gets to the outside temp will have little bearing once its reached full temp....

i used to do 70 miles to £10 but now i do 100 miles after the mods i've done. i got 1.4 16v

if you have air con and have it constantly on then this will add to fuel consumption though nothing drastic

Kris TD is right because when it's hot the air is less dense and so the ECU doesn't add as much fuel. Also you loose performance too.

cars use more fuel in the cold than the heat.

umm no, it now has 15" alloys. i used to get 100 miles to £10 on my 1.2 8v corsa

Im assuming it still has standard steelies? My 1.2 16v does 100miles=£10.

Hiya, i just brought a 1.4 16v Corsa (98) and the fuel consumption seems to be an awful lot at the moment.I also just changed the oil,oil filter,sparks and air filter because they hadnt been done for a while.
I was really wondering if the current weather would mean more fuel being used by any chance?Also, sitting in lots of traffic for a while.
If this isnt the case, any ideas as to why my car isnt very economical? It does about 70-80miles to £10 worth of petrol.
