not gonna make the difference as u have a separate battery for the big drains. Separates, you'll need a split charge relay (Autoleads Part: PC3-40, i think) some remote cable(blue stuff), 4 AWG to the boot and will need to earth the battery in the boot, i earthed mine to the wall of the spare wheel well.

yeah but im not getting a kit i dont think, im gonna go for seperates from www.caraudiodirect.com. I want a cap as part of the install, but i thought they helped for quite big power drains anyway?

so run 4awg from altenator to battery in boot (fused at the engine side), 4awg from battery to amp and then 4awg ground from amp back to battery? What about the power cap, does that go in series or parallel? As i said before, this is going to be my first proper install, so i will need all the help i can get!

4awg will be fine, but then the thickest, shortest cable poss from the optima to the amp

I think im gonna get the wires and stuff seperately from somewhere like www.caraudiodirect.com, but what will i actually need? Where do the power and ground cables go from and to, and will 4awg be enough for a 2.4kw rms amp?

I know a bit about ICE basics, but big insalls have their own problems by the looks of it! Im planning on getting 2 x 1000wrms subs (3000w peak if that makes any difference) and have been told that i will need a split charging system. I saw this on ebay and wondered if it was any good, ot even a reasonable price? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3040668916&category=14932#ebayphotohosting

I thought i may as well get all the wiring done before i build the install, and then it will give me time to save up for the amps and subs!
