ok people are goin off the subject, ok id buy it, i just bought mine 2 weeks ago, 1.4 16v SRi, at 90BHP n 0-60 in 10secs which is bull cuz ive had mine a lil faster than that, ne ways, its a good buy at that, n people who say they lack power musnt have drivin them, i mean its faster than a VTR(1.6) n wud give a VTS a good run, very very nippy, and feels alot different to my old 1.2corsa. they are tuneable to about 140 BHP with rite equipment so a performance garage near me told me, with a induction kit, s/chip, cams cut sharper, new sparks, manofould, and more things i didnt understand you can get it to that (ive been told so dont start argueing with me over this i dont know myself) so i think there can be alot done with them. and there is a differene between 1.2 n 1.4 cuz 1.2 only pushin 70-75bhp while SRi pushin 90-92 plus 0-60 is about 1 or 2 secs faster which is quite a big difference, but i am very bi-ist to my SRi cuz i love it :D

Im afraid I dont think they r doin the 1.7CDTi in the corsa. Its astra and meriva only. There will be two new diesels availiable. The 1.3 and 1.9 JTD's that have been jointly availiable with Fiat. The 1.3 recently clocked well over 100 Mpg in the Eco speedster and can top 160mph in that guise!

i am gonna b getting a new 1.4 sri soon. the 1.8 insurance is the same as the 1.4 somehow cause of an error the insurance people made but at the moment is not practical as i am just about to start oil technican apprenticeship and wouldnt b able to start buying car off parents for a few years......so 1.4 now and then 1.8 in 2yrs time............just wish the did a 1.6 corsa still cause i would mhave that

quote: that really isnt the point i was making?? all i was saying that the 1.8 SRI isnt as quick but is a more modern and comfortable drive day to day. I wasnt trying to degrade the pug or any other super mini, but what i was pointing out is the new corsa drives and feels like a bigger car and this really benefits it.

quote: Proberbly because they have a better spec etc than a 106. Also because its a newer car (Introduced in 2000, as apposed to the 106 being introduced in 96, possibly earlier as im not sure if the phase 2 was just a facelifted phase 1 or not). The corsa is meant to be a fast comfortable car. The 106 is more of a pocket rocket, with more emphasis on going fast than a comfortable ride.

Right to clarify what was said, the 1.4SRi isnt really worth buying if u already have the 1.2sxi...etc (C) the diferance in performance isnt that great (i work in hartwells vauxhall norwich and drive these cars at least once a week.

Yeah, but its only the same stuff that you can buy for the 1.2 i.e inlet manifold, air filter, exhaust. Havent seen any cams for it or an exhaust manifold yet.
