ok people are goin off the subject, ok id buy it, i just bought mine 2 weeks ago, 1.4 16v SRi, at 90BHP n 0-60 in 10secs which is bull cuz ive had mine a lil faster than that, ne ways, its a good buy at that, n people who say they lack power musnt have drivin them, i mean its faster than a VTR(1.6) n wud give a VTS a good run, very very nippy, and feels alot different to my old 1.2corsa. they are tuneable to about 140 BHP with rite equipment so a performance garage near me told me, with a induction kit, s/chip, cams cut sharper, new sparks, manofould,and more things i didnt understand you can get it to that (ive been told so dont start argueing with me over this i dont know myself) so i think there can be alot done with them. and there is a differene between 1.2 n 1.4 cuz 1.2 only pushin 70-75bhp while SRi pushin 90-92 plus 0-60 is about 1 or 2 secs faster which is quite a big difference, but i am very bi-ist to my SRi cuz i love it :D

The twinport petrol engines achieve reductions in fuel consumption by
using a variable intake manifold in combination with high rates of
exhaust gas recirculation.

For example, the new 1.0 ECOTEC twinport engine returns 53.5 mpg, three
per cent better than previously.

Fuel savings are even greater with the 1.4 ECOTEC twinport engine,
returning
47.9 mpg, 13 per cent better than its predecessor with the same power
output and five-speed manual transmission.

The new 1.3- and 1.7-litre CDTi ECOTEC turbo-diesels produce low fuel

1.3 CDTi ECOTEC - the smallest four-cylinder common rail diesel engine in

Im afraid I dont think they r doin the 1.7CDTi in the corsa. Its astra and meriva only.There will be two new diesels availiable. The 1.3 and 1.9 JTD's that have been jointly availiable with Fiat. The 1.3 recently clocked well over 100 Mpg in the Eco speedster and can top 160mph in that guise!

also need to find out if there gonna do the new 100bhp 1.7cdti engine in the corsa sri....if they do i will have one hopefully to answer ur question my dads garage was selling 52reg's with 5k-9k for £7995 so it is quite a good deal

Right to clarify what was said, the 1.4SRi isnt really worth buying if u already have the 1.2sxi...etc (C) the diferance in performance isnt that great (i work in hartwells vauxhall norwich and drive these cars at least once a week.

Bollox to whoever said the 1.8SRi feels underpowered!! its a 1.8 (125bhp engine in a corsa and it goes like stink)!! 8sec 0-60 isnt underpowered. (ok cars lilke the pug 106 GTi are quicker) but the corsa is more refined and alot more upmarket to drive.

U lot can now argue with what i have to say but i know what im talking about as i drive these cars (along with alot of others) and it aint bull shit. :thumbs:

Yeah, but its only the same stuff that you can buy for the 1.2 i.e inlet manifold, air filter, exhaust. Havent seen any cams for it or an exhaust manifold yet.

You can get Dbilas TB's but they add about the same amount of brake as the inlet manifold.

i no this but it would still be more tunable than the 1.2 i have now.there are kits out for this engine to get more power.
