i done something at college on this, basically the lambda sensor is the oxygen or O2 sensor, it meaures how much unburnt fuel is in the exhaust and sends a signal to the ECU. I think that the engine must run at a fuel mixture of 13.7:1 for the catalytic converter to work correctly.If you want to find out more details about the lambda sensor then just search the net. thats mainly where i found out about it!

In my corsa B 93' there is only one wire going grom lambda sensors
What kind of signals send sensor to ECU(electric levels)
Can anyone tell me more about lambda sensor (electric part)
