There was an air leak between mantzel and inlet manifold. Apparently its all fine now.

The brake servo vacuum pipe came off on my fiesta (oh, the dark old days!!) and this made it rev right up, then down, and up again, and so on....so air leak could be a possibility.

the wd40 trick works except if you have a leak the revs will rise, if your redlining from start up you wont be able to tell, not sure about the air leak i had a massive hole in the inlet trunking on my gsi and it only reved to 3000rpm

Spray some wd40 around the gaskets that join the inlet manifold to the head. If the air leak is there (which it sounds like it is) you will be able to tell. :)

Just put a 1.4 16v engine in, basically everything is done except coolant pipes and exhaust. |
