Go for Astra GSi brakes without a doubt i would never touch V6 brakes as the corsa master cylinder is too small to cope with it and as a result the brakes r spongy and under perform. search for old threads on it and u will see. Bigger brakes dont neccerily mean better stoppin power :)

Tony, are you talking about the discs off the latest Astra? Im not sure if these are a straight swap. I know that the Astra MK2 GTE discs went on without hassle.

get the rear disks off an astra 16v its pretty straight foward matey but they are only for show really can make the car unstable at the rear when braking heavy

straight swap matey if ya get the disks and calipers, i would hold out for a V6 conversion, buy one here and get it shipped they are about £350 for brand new disks and calipers

So should upgrading to the Astra GSi front discs be a problem? Will they just bolt on? Will it be enough stopping power once my car gets turbocharged? That's on the 'to do' list as well! How can I replace the rear drums with disc brakes?

Corsa B GSi in the UK were fitted with 256x20 size front discs. Astra GTE discs are 256x24 and are much better at removing heat, therefore perform much better than standard GSi discs. Iknow that the GSi's in SA were 8v so may have been fitted with the X14XE brakes hich were 236mm.
