Astra GTE mk2, Astra GSI mk3, Cav mk2 & 3 16v's, cally 16's all have the redtop units in, but i'v heard that the 2.0 8v units from the cally and cav are also pretty good and nippy and alot easier and cheaper to get hold of..

The 2.0 Ecocrap is not nearly as good the the 20XE from early cav's, callys and astra's.

2lt 16v turbo (205bhp) total cost about 2500
2lt 16v redtop (156bhp) total cost about 1500
2lt 16v ecotec (136bhp) total cost about 1500
1.6 16v (109bhp) total cost about 1000

2lt 16v is the best as Partrick says, best pound for bhp.

the best has to be 2lt 16v on TB

2.0 16v Redtop is by far the best BHP per £ mod you can do to your Corsa.

1.6 16v is very expensive to mod upto 2.0 16v spec. :)

What is the best engine to stick in my car?

I bought a 1.0 12v Corsa few weeks back but basically i want to put a new engine in. Whats the best way to go about it? Put on new brakes etc first and do a bit at a time then drop the engine etc. Just not sure whats the best way to go about it.

Also everyone goes on about cavi engines, is possibly to fit a vectra 2lt 16v? and can TB's be fitted with that!
