i thought all ecotec engines ran off a map sensor as opposed to air flow meters.

all GSI's had hydraulic power steering, though 1.2 16v maybe the later electronic power steering, whereas early ones have hydraulic

What is to be done about power steering? my SXi has it but I aint sure the donor car has, Im trying to cover every angle u see,Im guna go see the lad today or tomoro but I should be able to fit the poer steering onto the lump neways as theyre both corsa lumps and some gsis had powersteering as an option didnt they?

Yeah, no immobiliser on the c16xe, the loom is piss to fit, just a 9pin plug that should fit onto your car loom.

c16xe doesnt have immobiliser as std after 1996 vaux introduced immobilisers as std and by then its the ecotec x16xe

I think you'll need the C16XE loom. The C16XE has an Air Flow Meter which I don't think the 1.2 16v had.

Ive just put me deposit down for a pre ecotec gsi lump- its a gud price and has all driveshafts, zorst, ecu etc with it- I know the engine should just slot straight in, things worrying me are the chip that may b in the key for the engine, and the fuel pumps and pipes- can anyone shed some light? will the wiring looms be radically different? |
