hehe, i've got a couple of led's wedged between the clocks and the dash surround.

I've got rear disks, so I might put a couple of slots in them and try it that way if I can mount a sensor well enough.

I havent got abs so ive got to either buy abs drums or bodge my existing ones to give a reading to dta.
Im using my engine warning light as my shift light, works perfect!

I've had a quick look there before.

What sensor have you got? Is it just your standard abs sensor?

What about the shift lights? They are quite usefull.

Not yet, got to get the sensor, dta has only been on for 2/3days.
A few people on the dta forum are using it though i think.

Yeah, I only went to 8k once because we were messing around on the dual carridgeway with the laptop plugged in.

My power tails off at about 7100....

I made 140bhp @ wheels, 164@fly, with 130lb/ft. Although that torque seems a little high...That was earlier today on a conservative rolling road.

I use DTA as well, I want to set up launch control, have you used that?

Ive got the velos inlet plenum, decat, arp con rod bolts being run by dta.
I had 118bhp at wheels 147 at fly at 7000rpm and 118lb/ft of torque at 5900rpm.
Think il leave 8000rpm unless i get a rebuild with cams, valves, pistons etc...

What spec are you running?

You take your chances about it going pop really, mine has deseemed rods, balanced and rebuilt bottom end, arp bolts etc

What injectors and fuel pressure are you using? Peak fueling is at peak torque, so really if the injectors can cope with 7k, they should do 8k, although if the power isn't there then there is no point. My injectors are open for longer at 5500rpm, then they are at 8k.

Hmmm 8000rpm sounds nice, ive got arp bolts, anything else i need to stop my engine going pop?
Ive only set my dta to 7500rpm at the moment, injectors are mxing out from 7000rpm too so cant go to 8000..... yet.

That was at 8k. It read 125 on the digi dash.

Its not something Im going to make a habbit of

I'm pretty sure the ratio's are the same.

Most ive had was 115mph in fourth bouncing off a 7300 rev limit.:(
Is your rev limit higher and/or have you got a lower final drive than my 1.6 sport?
I want 125 in 4th too:thumbs:

you probably wont get 130mph, its the gear box that stopping you progress, get a 2l engine and box that is capable of 130+ i got a 1.6 GSI with around 135bhp and my top speed aint no different 120 max

bigger wheels will give you a higher top speed.
