ive got the same problem with my jvc kd-s777r!! ive got some 220w jbl components running off it, its only 40w per channel.
apparently jvc head units have a inbuilt cut out on the internal amp, so u dont burn the amp out!! try amping ur new speakers to take the strain off ur unit!!

Im having trouble as I have got a standard JVC (40W X 4) Cd player. I am currently running it off the standard corsa sound system. The problem is when i turn the volume up to a certain amount the screen starts to fade and the sound cuts out then comes back on again until i turn it down again.
I have just been out and bought some 6 x 9's but havn't fitted them yet. What can i do to overcome this problem?
