A woman pulled out on me on a 4 lane roundabout today and the same thing happened. I know mine needs adjusting though. The reason I have to adjust mine is because my car is lowered. The valve detects when the car is lower at the back, and assumes there is more weight in the back when it's lower, thus applying more braking force to the rear. When u lower the car, it has a similar effect, except u havent got the extra weight so the rear locks up more easily.

mine does it too sometimes, its not the brake bias valve on mine, i think its one of the front brakes cos i had 3 wheels lock up. also b4 i adjusted the brake bias valve my rear wheels locked up everywhere now they dont, only if i plant the brakes really hard, but then the fronts go too.

right after testing today on a wide! quiet road
30mph it locks the rears first
40mph fish tail a bit-and a bit side ways
50-60mph side ways
i did this in the dry its a hot day my tyres are fine and it was in a straight line

any one know why?

Could just have been drum brakes locking or maybe the road surface!

i had to slow very quickly as a woman pulled out on me:!
i hit the brakes and the back end tried to oertake me:! stepped right out on the right hand side:o
i corrected it etc smoke etc etc:(
missed all other cars dunno how:boggle:

but what can cause this? i heard about the bias vavle but the mechanic at the garage said he's never had a bias vale go faulty yet
he said its a dmp shoe maladjusted rear brakes or the cylinders

what do u ppl rekon??
thanks
