so would hetting a sri late spec nova manifold make my 1.4 8v go a bit quiker?

The 1.2 8v is a single downpipe of 47mm, The SRi 8v jobbie, from a late spec Nova, Doubles the downpipe diameter to two outlets at 40mm each. 6-7bhp easy :)

Its not a straight swap tho, it will need some cutting and welding to make it mate up with existing exhaust.

Courtney sells them pre-prepared at £195 each

or the expensive performance type, Lexmaul or Mantzel sell a tubular 'bunch of bannanas' item, £315.

can i have yours?

Doesnt seem anything special, just a 4 into 1 manifold. Perhaps the bore is a little bigger due to the size of the inlet/exhaust.

is the 8v sri exhaust manifold different to standard one?

if so what different?

Total Vauxhall did a tuning guide for this engine a few months back, there car was 44bhp stock. They put on a Blydenstein B+ cylinder head, a cast iron Corsa Sri 8v exhaust manifold, a janspeed sports exhaust and a kent cams adjustable pulley. From that they got 57bhp @ 5500rpm. Torque went from 63 to 69 lbf.ft Doesnt say how much they spent tho.

Could probly just swap the whole engine for not a lot more. :)

no downsides to drilling airbox m8.jus make sure it aint on the engine side.i aint got any flast spots no more after doin it 2 mine

i cant remember who does the kit, but theres a nitrous system available with a variety of jets. Basically, you can get a big tank of nos, run it thru fine jets, and it just gives the same effect as driving a higher powered car. could be more hassle and expense than its worth for this engine...

drill your air box m8.drill holes underneath the filter dont go above it.drill lots on left side(against wing) front left and under left.drill lots and lots of holes with 10 -14 mm drill bit that will solve it.let me know how u get on

Dunno, what yo umean by flat spot and doesnt want to rev.

Mine doesnt have any flatspots, its just slow  Seems happy enough to rev though, just takes its time about it :D

You could put a carb on it, but it'd be more trouble than its worth really, as you'll need to junk your standard loom and get one that opnly controls the ignintion. You'll also use lots more petrol, and may have trouble come mot time with emmisions. Also the cat wont like the carb :(.

Just stick with it, or start saving for a bigger engine/ new car :)
