Yeah, you got done over, I contacted vaux and they told me £60 odd, so I went to my local part factors and got just the thermostat for about £7.

The thermostat cant affect the sensor readings.

My dash temperature stays at the bottom aswell, could it be the same?
My ol man reckoned it cant be a problem with the thermostat coz otherwise it would boil over?

There are 2 temp sensors, one for the ecu and one for the dash.

They are both next to each other in the thermostat housing.

The coolent level shouldn't effect it.

Most probably the connector has come off, its a poor design really, have a look at it, its at the front of the engine cam belt side.

i noticed yesterday that the engine temperature guage is not working on my "L" reg corsa Gsi, also just before this happend i noticed the radiator coolant was quite overfilled from the service it just had so i drained it out to the right level! then thats when i noticed the temperature guage stopped working??

any ideas what could be wrong???

cheers :)
