alarms can trigger central locking, but the deadlocks are mechanical, the key needs to be turned 90 degrees to activate...(when key is turned, barrel hits micro switch.. (i know cos i had to change door on my car and swop everything over)...

I have since spoken to a number of fitters and they reckon the deadlock's mechanical and can't be done. But surely the driver's door is able to do the passenger's door so there must be some degree of electricalness?!

Alarm/Central locking set up triggers Solenoids within the doors, press a button on the alarm control it'll disarm an pop the drivers door open, press another an will do the passenger one too... an boot etc... Also buttons under wingmirrors possible (like tvr's etc..) possibilities endless!

Key fob unlocks door and then by osmosis you pass through the door.

Should do... I recently got the Toad Ai606 sponsored by toad which was nice... On a car with remote central locking etc... Works with deadlocks fine an all that...

I intend to invest in an alarm, probably a Toad or similar. I have central locking but I really want remote central locking. I know the alarms can do this but will they also deadlock it? given that you have to turn the lock a full 90 degrees to deadlock it with the key?
